Can you learn your own makeup in one lesson?

Yes, if the goal is your own face. In a 90 minute one to one lesson (£120) you learn how to work with your skin, where products actually go on your features and how to recreate a flawless, glowy look yourself. Becoming confident doing other people's makeup takes more: that is what the courses from £250 are for.

Why one lesson works for your own face

Most everyday makeup problems are not about talent, they are about placement and product choice for one specific face: yours. That is why Leyla's lesson is called Learn Your Own Face. You are not copying a tutorial filmed on someone else's bone structure. You sit in the chair, and every technique is chosen for your features, your skin and your routine.

In her own words, the lesson is for anyone who has ever felt unsure doing their own makeup or wants to finally get what suits them: effortless skin, lifted placement and techniques that actually make sense for you.

What you will cover in 90 minutes

The session runs on your face, half guided and half hands on. Expect to work on skin prep and base, brows, eye placement for your eye shape, and the finishing that makes a look last. You leave wearing the result and knowing how you got there.

When a course is the better call

If the ambition is bigger than your own mirror, repetition matters. The one day mini course builds three full looks, the two day course builds five, with Leyla guiding step by step and sharing her own techniques. Both finish with a certificate she signs. Working on a model under supervision is also available as a single 2 hour 30 minute lesson at £150.

Lesson questions, answered

What should I bring to a makeup lesson?

Your own makeup bag, as it is. The lesson works with what you actually use, so the routine you learn is one you can repeat at home the next morning.

Is one lesson enough?

For most people wanting a better everyday routine, yes: one focused session on your own face changes the fundamentals. If you want to do other people’s makeup, a course is the better format.

What does a course add?

Structure and repetition. The one day mini course covers three looks, the two day course covers five, both with step by step guidance and a certificate signed by Leyla at the end.
